Role and Requirements
Experience of deburring or Finishing or CNC or manually machined metal component parts in a precision engineering environment such as aerospace.
You will be familiar with using handheld tools such as a scrapers, files, sandpaper, stones, reamers or handheld power tools or cutters to deburr, finish and polish machined component parts, according to engineering drawings.
Through your time working in a machine shop, you’ll have developed a knowledge of different metals and how they each need a slightly different approach to get the finish you need.
Working closely with Machine Operators and Inspection Staff, you’ll be checking your work throughout the deburring process too, so you’ll need to be familiar with using standard measuring equipment such as Vernier’s, micrometres and depth gauges with minimal supervision.
