The new offering is an all-in-one subscription that will cover your HR needs, give you specific solutions for your people issues, while also giving you access to a plethora of helpful information.
What is the HR Star Membership?
To enable you to manage your people effectively, HR Star Membership gives you access to a variety of tools and resources. We don’t limit the service to online resources and informative factsheets; we offer a personal approach.
What is the personal approach?
We have an experienced and friendly team who are available to answer your questions and support you through whatever people management issues you are facing. Our HR team and membership will be able to give you helpful updates on all things HR-related!
We realise that sometimes it’s beneficial to talk through a problem with someone, so the membership includes a 30-minute call with an HR Star team member once a month. One of our experienced team can listen to your specific issue and discuss potential options and solutions with you. Our team member will also be able to refer you to specific member templates or toolkits, which may provide further support.
It’s a simple approach: you let us know when you want to have the call, and we’ll organise it!
Who is HR Star Membership for?
HR Star Membership is a resource for start-ups, small businesses who don’t have a dedicated HR individual or department or those who need additional HR support. The membership provides a host of helpful resources, including how to hold difficult conversations in the workplace or key tips on how to manage your people.
What is the membership’s focus?
We believe that engaged employees are more productive, and therefore engagement is key to business success. Employees within a business should be aligned, and the people strategy can drive a business to optimal success and productivity.
At HR Star, we work with clients to map out their employee journey and form a people strategy. It’s vital to understand the structure of the business and how the roles fit, and then each employee needs to be aware of how their role fits into the business and what it entails. Membership offers all the resources to implement the people strategy, including a monthly phone call, templates, how-to guides and Q & A sessions.
What if a member is unsure about their people strategy?
If you don’t have a people strategy or are not sure how to approach it, you can start with a 30-minute call with one of the HR Star team. In the call, we will partner with you to discuss your current staff engagement, mission, values and vision, what your business is trying to achieve and where you are now.
We will work with you to determine how the business vision and values can be aligned to a people strategy and how this feeds into other parts of the employee lifecycle including, recruitment, reward, performance management etc. We aim to enhance employee engagement and drive business success, and we believe the HR Star Membership is a valuable way to help you achieve this.
What are the Q & A sessions?
Every month HR Star’s managing director, Kelly Tucker, hosts a live Q & A session for members. These sessions are helpful to provide you with more information and to answer the questions at the top of your list.
Why are the templates helpful?
Members have access to a variety of templates created by us. They have been designed to make your role easier while also being accurate and up-to-date. Whether you need an accident and injury form or an induction checklist, we have it covered in our template suite. The templates are easy to download and cover many areas of HR and the workplace.
What other resources are there?
Lots! There’s a vast range of resources for members that cover all elements of the employee lifecycle. We offer toolkits, podcasts, factsheets and how-to guides on a range of HR processes and subjects. So, whether you need facts about maternity leave or information about how to manage redundancy effectively, we have it covered!
How can membership help if a business has no experience in performance management?
There are many resources offered in the HR Star membership to help you focus on positive performance management conversations. As well as allowing you to discuss your performance management approach in the monthly calls, there are other resources to guide you. We can help you align your performance management strategy to the business strategy and ensure you have adopted a forward-thinking approach that develops and motivates your people and also relates to reward and recognition.
Are there any other membership perks?
We regularly post videos, tips, podcasts and updates in the membership area to ensure that you are updated with changes to legislation, employment law, workplace change and any other trends we think you should be aware of. Members are also given monthly updates on employee engagement trends and best practice and details about special offers and discounts. At HR Star, we believe in a proactive approach, therefore you have peace of mind that all information we give you is accurate and up-to-date.
Can membership be accessed at any time?
Yes, the membership area is available 24 hours a day, every day.
What hot topics are HR Star being asked about at the moment?
With so much change in the workplace over recent months, we are being asked a lot of different questions! However, one trend is around redundancies. It’s essential to get the redundancy processes right and in accordance with legislation and to consider how to manage those people involved. In the membership, we have how-to redundancy guides and other comprehensive information for managing redundancies.
COVID-19 meant significant workplace change. How can HR Star membership help?
It’s fair to say that the average workplace has changed significantly since COVID-19. The pandemic has meant a lot of adjustment due to the increase of remote working and the introduction of furlough. Also, many businesses may realise that they need to make amendments to contracts of employment or policies. It’s essential to ensure that contracts are in place and that changes are made according to employment law. No business wants to be in breach of contract, and that’s something that HR Star Membership can help you to avoid.
Another current topic we are discussing a lot is around managing staff remotely and the gradual change of some employees returning to the office and others remaining at home. Again, we have lots of information for members about managing such workplace change and how to communicate with employees during a very segmented and uncertain time.
Why become an HR Star member now?
It’s been a challenging year, yet many businesses are starting to look forward to 2021. It’s good to start planning for 2021 and reviewing what your business needs to focus on, and we can help you with that. It’s worth considering your business structure and strategy, your people strategy and other things like documentation, policies, performance management etc.
Why not google the answer to an HR issue?
You could, but you would have to wade through lots of information, and you have no idea if the information you find is up-to-date or adheres to current employment law and legislation. By being an HR Star member, you have the comfort and confidence of knowing that all information is accurate. You have the added benefit of being able to speak to a member of the team to discuss how to implement change or ask questions. Plus, we have ensured that all the information you need is in one place, to make it quick and easy to find, so you don’t have to waste your time.
HR Star Membership has a range of resources to help your business. Whether you’re planning for 2021 or reviewing where you are currently, we have various guides, templates and staff to help you drive your business to success. Our membership is affordable and approachable as we aim to partner with you to offer a bespoke service and a professional and personal relationship. Anyone can become a member, and regardless of where your business is now, it’s an opportunity for HR and businesses to take a proactive approach.
