Our client is based in Gloucester and specialises in spectacle lens supply. This family business was established over 60 years ago yet is being constantly modernised to meet today’s forever changing technology. 

We are excited to recruit for a temporary Glazing Operative who can demonstrate a high attention to detail and possess a meticulous approach to their work.

Key Responsibilities

The main purpose of the role is to prepare paperwork and lenses to be cut in the MEI machine using the computerised software. Checking all details on the computer are correct and making any necessary changes. Attention for detail will be key.

This role is for immediate start and could go permanent for the right candidate.


  • Organising work to ensure a smooth flow through all departments
  • Guaranteeing that all assigned daily tasks are completed to the required standards
  • Dealing promptly with any issues that may have had an adverse effect on the department
  • Ability to carry out other adhoc tasks as and when required

Person Specification

  • Experience in the Optical trade would be beneficial
  • High levels of communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good standard of written and spoken English and Maths
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate a passion and commitment to service excellence
  • Being respectful and courteous to customers and colleagues
  • Efficient, effective and with demonstrable attention to detail
  • Open and honest attitude
